It’s important to stay on top of regular HVAC maintenance, and to rely on a trained specialist to take care of your check ups and repairs. We don’t think much about our temperature control systems most of the time, but once one of those controls stops working we notice right away!
With the changing seasons and the outdoor location of many components of the system, our HVAC equipment can come up against challenges. A rooftop unit can cost as much as $30,000 so you want to avoid that at all costs, and the way to do it is with preventative maintenance at least twice a year.
Here’s an incomplete list of things that can go wrong with your system: your compressor can blow out in the spring and fall, leaving you with a unit that is not functional. Your belts can wear out or even catch on fire! If the heating section fails, you’ll not only lose heat but risk a build up of toxic air. Same thing with ventilation issues – if your vents are blocked you run the risk of CO2 poisoning.
With these (and other) potential problems, you can see why it’s important to call in a trained HVA specialist a couple times a year. These professionals can asses the health of your equipment and catch big problems early – potentially saving you hundreds or thousands of dollars.
